Sponsor The Universe Within Creative Thinking Coursework

Support Mat Bevel Company’s Art & Education Work During The “Building Our Universe Together” Campaign

Creative thinking skills can help young people move forward in their lives when they feel confused, lost, or stuck. Wouldn’t it be rewarding to introduce students to specific techniques that build confidence in their creative abilities so they transform from an attitude of fear and doubt to an attitude of “I can do it,” “I’ll try this” or “I’ve got an answer”?

The Universe Within is an educational course created by nonprofit Mat Bevel Company to build students’ creative thinking abilities by teaching specific hands-on skills to help them tackle life’s challenges with greater imagination. This course is a grassroots solution to a national creative intelligence deficit that helps students to innovate, problem-solve and navigate unknown situations through original thinking exercises and out-of-the-box approaches.

Inspired by Ned Schaper’s magical world of Beveldom and his Available Resource Technology (A.R.T.) practice, The Universe Within is an introduction to world-building where students learn how to unleash the power of their imagination.

Students play the part of a central character in a unique world of their own making while meeting Common Core standards in art, science and English language arts.

Your sponsorship support during the “Building Our Universe Together” helps Mat Bevel Company expand The Universe Within coursework during the 2018-2019 school year.

You can take a share of the credit for changing someone’s life and setting them on the path to solving some of society’s most pressing issues: solutions for harvesting renewable and efficient sources of energy … innovations for reducing plastic in our oceans …new ways to convert trash in our landfills into  products.

Students are inspired to experiment, play and take a risk on their own creativity by watching footage of Ned Schaper’s Museum Of Kinetic Art and his Surrealistic Pop Science Theater shown during classes.

Classroom instruction encourages students stretch their imagination and teaches them how to capture, connect, test and activate their original ideas and solutions through a series of classes: The Daily Doodle, Corrugated Headgear, Story Book and Pedestrian Carnival.

The classes show students how to get their ideas out of their head, into their hands, onto paper (or video) and out to the public!

Students create and tell stories as well as build and share their own world—all while learning reading, listening, writing, speaking, design, construction, presentation and observation in a fun and engaging way.

Let’s share the magic with students. Your contribution helps us increase the number of participating students during the 2018-2019 school year.

Your sponsorship helps us expand these educational outreach efforts to reach even more students and integrate The Universe Within into other subject areas that students are learning in school. With your help, Mat Bevel Company will expand coursework at Patagonia Public Schools and to schools throughout Pima County to teach the fundamentals of creative problem solving.

Because Mat Bevel Company staff volunteers most of their time, the majority of each gift goes directly to student services.

We invite you—individuals in the community, and local businesses of all sizes, to become sponsors for The Universe Within during Mat Bevel Company’s “Building Our Universe Together” campaign. Sponsorship doesn’t have to involve a lot of money. Donations of time, expertise or equipment are also welcome.

We recognize all of our sponsors and contributors on our website. Larger sponsors and donors are recognized in classroom videos, on The Universe Within TV show and on signage at our new home in Tucson Mall.

You can help change the life of a student … perhaps a budding inventor or researcher who may one day change many people’s lives … by supporting our effort to increase student creativity in the fields of science and art.

Help us open up new worlds in education! Your sponsorship will help us produce inspirational educational programming, in the classroom and at a distance, through The Universe Within TV show.

Your gift to our 501(c)3 Mat Bevel Company during the “Building Our Universe Together” campaign will help us bring wildly wonderful art and inspiring educational entertainment to everyone.
